Unsurprising Zune limitations

Posted by Simon in Technology with No Responses Yet

The Microsoft Zune portable media player hasn’t hit the UK yet but already one of its most advertised features, wireless music sharing, has been shown to be Defective by Design. This post over at Zunerama points out that large chunks of music simply cannot be shared across Zunes. Quite why record studios are worried about this feature, especially given that its clearly aimed at revenue generation, is beyond me. I guess it just goes to show that even when Microsoft is pushing social features its still under the influence of higher powers, a.k.a the record studios.
