The BBC have announced a new service called /topics. It aims to provide a one-stop shop for all news relating to either a person, place or subject, with the news gathered from the BBC News Website. So how does it hold up?

The BBC recently launched a fairly major revamp of its web site and it ended up as a bit of a mixed bag. There are some real triumphs, but the effort seems disproportionally distributed resulting in some major failures.

When I wrote this, I was thinking about: bbc, iPhone, iplayer, iPod Touch.
After being critical of the BBC in the past, particularly in relation to their iPlayer project, I’ve got to hold my hands up and say they’ve done quite a nice job in porting it to the iPhone. Despite some long-lingering usability problems which just got much worse.
